How we look after your details

This notice covers our enquiry and quote forms and this website. It says what we ask for, why, and what we do with it.

The short version

  • We use your answers to reply to your enquiry and to put your quote together.
  • We don't sell your details, and we don't pass them on to anyone who'd use them for their own marketing.
  • Only Tide Rise and anyone we hire to help can see your details, and only what they need to do the job.
  • We won't add you to a mailing list without asking you first.
  • We keep your answers only as long as we need them. You can ask us to delete them at any time.

Who we are

Tide Rise Marketing is a digital marketing business based in Margate, Kent. It is run by Christian Jones, who is responsible for your personal information (the "controller" in data protection language).

What we ask for, and why

We use two short forms. The first starts your enquiry. The second helps us shape your quote.

FormWhat you tell usWhat we use it for
Enquiry formYour name, email address, optional WhatsApp or phone number, your business name and where it's based, a website or social link if you have one, what's taking up your time, which common problems sound like your week, where you'd like a hand, and where you spotted us.Replying to you and working out how we could help.
Quote formWhich service to start with, who looks after your marketing, the tools you already use, how enquiries reach you, the one thing that would make the biggest difference, whether you'd share view-only access to your analytics later, and, if you choose to tell us, your team size and a rough monthly budget. Also how soon you'd like to start, how you'd like us to keep in touch, your answers about the introductory rate, and anything else you add. If you reach it without our link, we also ask your name, email address and business name.Preparing your quote and getting in touch about it.

Please don't put passwords, bank details or card numbers in either form. We never need them.

The enquiry form is on this website. If you reach it from one of our posts, the link may carry a short tag, so we can see which post helped you find us. The tag doesn't contain any details about you. When your enquiry arrives, we send you one automatic email to confirm we've got it, with a link to the quote form. It isn't marketing.

Our legal reason

We use your details because you asked us to get in touch about our services, and we need them to reply and prepare a quote. Data protection law calls this taking steps at your request before entering into a contract. If you're enquiring for a business and not for yourself, our reason is that we have a legitimate interest in replying to business enquiries, and we don't think that overrides your rights.

If we want to send you marketing emails or newsletters, we'll ask for your permission separately, and you can say no.

Who sees your details

  • Tide Rise Marketing.
  • Anyone we hire to help with your work. They only get access to what they need, and they're bound to keep it private.
  • Cloudflare. They host this website and pass your enquiry from our form to us, which means they handle technical details such as your IP address. Cloudflare may process data outside the UK, using the safeguards UK law requires.
  • Google. Your enquiry is saved to a Google spreadsheet and sent to us from our Google email account, and your quote form answers are saved to the same spreadsheet. Google may process data outside the UK, using the safeguards UK law requires.
  • IONOS. Our business email ([email protected]) runs on IONOS, so emails you send us, and the enquiry notifications we send ourselves, pass through their service.
  • The messaging app you choose. If you ask us to reply on WhatsApp, that conversation runs through WhatsApp.

We don't sell your details. If the law requires us to share them, for example with a regulator, we will.

This website

Our own pages don't set cookies, and they load their fonts from our own server rather than from a third party.

Visitor statistics. We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to see how many people visit this website, which pages they read and roughly where in the UK they are, so we can see what's working and improve the site. It doesn't use cookies, doesn't store anything on your device and doesn't follow you around other websites. We only look at totals and trends, not at individual visitors. Our reason is that we have a legitimate interest in understanding how our website is used, and we don't think that overrides your rights. If we add anything that does set cookies or track you, we'll update this page and ask for your permission first where the law requires it.

Our enquiry and quote forms are part of this website and set no cookies. The link to the quote form carries a random reference so we can match your answers to your enquiry. It contains no details about you. Our email address is a plain link, so clicking it opens your email app and sets nothing on your device.

How long we keep your details

  • If we don't end up working together, we delete your answers within 12 months of your enquiry.
  • If we do work together, we keep them while we work together. We keep invoices and other financial records for as long as tax law requires, which is normally six years.

Your rights

You can ask us, at any time, to:

  • tell you what we hold about you, and give you a copy
  • correct anything that's wrong
  • delete your details
  • stop using your details in a particular way, or restrict how we use them
  • move your details to someone else in a usable format

Email us and we'll reply within one month, usually much sooner.

If you're unhappy with how we've handled your information, please tell us first so we can put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint or on 0303 123 1113.

Last updated 25 October 2026. If we change how we use your details, we'll update this page.
